APOLOGY TO 1980'S SENIOR CITIZEN

I CAN’T HELP BEING HAUNTED BY MY INTERVIEWS WITH A DYNAMIC AND POWERFUL SENIOR CITIZEN DURING MY YEARS AS A NBC TV NEWS REPORTER IN THE 1980’S. SHE WORE BLACK HORN-RIMMED GLASSES, THAT DWARFED HER FRECKLED ROUND FACE, JOYFUL SMILE AND DETERMINED STARE. HER CONSTANT MARCHING POINT WAS WHENEVER PG&E ASKED FOR A RAISE IN FEES SHE STORMED BEFORE THE UTILITIES COMMISSION AND MARCHED, MARCHED AND MARCHED MORE. HER DECLARATION WAS ALWAYS THE SAME; PG&E IS STEALING FROM CUSTOMERS WHILE PAYING DIVIDENDS AND TAKING PROFIT BUT NEVER SINKING LINES BELOW GROUND AND REPAIRING THEIR EQUIPMENT. HER PROTEST ARGUMENTS WERE ALWAYS THE SAME: IF CUSTOMERS DON’T TAKE CHARGE AND INSIST ON UPDATES THERE WILL BE DIRE CONSEQUENCES. WE WILL NEED RESOURCES WE DON’T HAVE TO FACE CATASTROPHE WE HAVE NOT IMAGINED. PARDON ME MADAM, I WOULD LOVE TO APOLOGIZE

TO HER TODAY AND OFFER HER MUCH MORE COVERAGE.
