About the Event

You are cordially invited to have your students participate in a live video conversation and lecture with Dr. Melba Pattillo Beals, award-winning author, educator, lecturer and one of the Little Rock Nine, who at age fifteen faced angry mobs and vindictive students in order to earn a better education.  This is an amazing Interactive Event with Dr. Melba Beals. "A Living History - Private Live Q&A for Students"

Dr. Beals is the author of two books for young people on segregation during the 1940’s and 50’s, Warriors Don’t Cry and March Forward, Girl. These memories bring to life the raw emotions of a young girl who understood early in her life she must fight for self-respect in a world where others were determined to make her “less-than.”

Dr. Beals will speak about "Choice, Voice and Inclusion" and how they relate to Personal Equality and answer students' questions.

Dr. Beals will meet with your students through a video conference. She will share her story and answer their questions.

The special event is offered at a special rate of $300.00 per school to support Dr. Beals' work - and you may have as many students as possible on your side of the video conference, in a classroom or assembly hall.

(Take fast action - this event's attendance is limited to only 100 schools.)

Dr. Melba Beals, Professor Emerita at Dominican University and one of the Little Rock Nine will guide your students through her own history to an understanding of segregation in the 40's and 50's.

She will discuss the word equality, a concept important enough for our forefathers to base the constitution on it.

She will explore why equality is an inside job which must be defined, attained and preserved by each one of us.

Her inspirational talks stress our unique nature and how our collective creative energy can give us voice, choice and participation in our own life now and in our future.

We hope you can make it!

Cheers,

Melba Pattillo Beals Ph. D
